Pittsford CommUNITY is a 501c3 non-profit with the mission of bringing Pittsford together through education and awareness. This occurs through events that include art, music, film, and culture, and represents historically excluded groups to promote inclusion and foster a sense of belonging.
The MLK Living the Dream Series is held annually in January and is aimed at focusing on the legacy of Dr. King beyond one day in January where he is typically recognized. It is both a celebration, and provides education through several events aimed at making Dr. King’s dream a reality. Created and held annually since 2019, a team of residents started this series with Kevin Beckford after he was elected as the first African-American to the Pittsford Town Board. Hundreds of people within and outside Pittsford have come to celebrate and learn to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. We are excited for our 2026 lineup:
